CLASS DESCRIPTION
In these classes students learn the rules of the game, opening principals, tactical patterns, piece value, positional play, middle game planning, pattern recognition for calculation, and endgame techniques.
What to bring: students are encouraged to byob (bring your own board!) and pieces for practicing in class.
INSTRUCTOR DESCRIPTION
Aron is a chess instructor who found his passion for the game as an adult and now teaches kids and adults through private lessons, group classes, and a weekly chess club in Highland Park. He focuses on making chess approachable by understanding each student’s thinking and building a strong foundation in concepts and techniques.
