Ella teaches DJ lessons to both children and adults. With her energetic and upbeat teaching style, she helps students learn the fundamentals of DJing, including beat matching, mixing techniques, and music selection. Students will have fun while developing their skills on professional DJ equipment.

Meet the Instructor

What do you teach?

I teach the fundamentals of piano, voice, songwriting, and music production.

What makes you want to share your skills and knowledge?

I want to spread the value of learning music not only as a skill, but as a way to unwind and reset. I love seeing my students grow to understand their own styles and voice.

What is your experience in your craft and how are you evolving?

I am a full time singer-songwriter and have worked with some renowned artists, and have garnered the attention of PAPER magazine, WONERLAND, and some of spotify’s editorial playlists.

What’s your style of teaching?

I like to prioritize understanding, engagement, and personal growth in my students. First I like to build a strong foundation by starting with the fundamentals. Then I collaborate with students to customize their learning plans. I also like to set realistic goals by working with my students to set achievable short-term and long-term goals that maintain motivation and a sense of accomplishment.

What keeps you creatively inspired?

Having students who learn differently from the status quo.

Ella teaches piano, voice and songwriting lessons to my 2 daughters, ages 7 and 17. Her engaging personality and talent at teaching make the lessons something they look forward to every week. She follows their interests, customizing her teaching to their music preferences and abilities and has encouraged their love of music. My 7 year old loves pop and musical theater, and Ella has greatly improved her ability to sing on key.
